The 2nd Edition of the EMERGENCY LAB – COVID-19 – RECONFIGURING THE FUTURE to join a group of people who believe in collaboration and innovation in a virtual space to create solutions to the complex problems facing their communities in the face of the impacts of the COVID – 19 pandemic.
The 2nd Edition of the Lab is a Silo - Arte e Latitude Rural production with the support of Instituto Procomum, Artigo19 and Digital Ocean, in partnership with Amerek, Bela Baderna,Careables, Casa Criatura, Lab Coco, Datalabe, Coletivo Etinerancias, Frena la Curva, Gambiologia, Gênero e Número, Horta Inteligente, Instituto Elos, Instituto Update, MediaLab.UFRJ, Mulheres do Futuro, Museu da Mantiqueira, No-Budget Science, Olabi, Pretalab, Redes da Maré,Segura a Onda, Think Olga and A Tramadora.
With a multidisciplinary character, the laboratory is characterized by the meeting of cultures, knowledge and generations, it promotes the dialogue between popular knowledge, science and new technologies. A virtual space for strategic development is established, ruring five days of remote work, where projects are connected to different resources and knowledge.
Through two open calls, one for projects and one for collaborators, the Lab seeks projects mainly from rural and urban peripheries. It works to connect ideas with a large number of collaborators, spread these initiatives, help in structuring them so that they can be replicated and also offer mentoring and allowances for proposals.The Lab is an online event composed of self-managed work groups, using chat, video call, audio and streaming platforms.
The Emergency Laboratory is a collaborative proposal that works on the development of projects under the participative logic using free licenses that allow replication and adaptation of projects to other contexts.
